About the Founder

Founder Portrait Deirdre M. Stokes, Founder & CEO
Raised on the very block she now restores in Tuscaloosa, Deirdre was among the first Black students to integrate Verner Elementary in 1965. After earning a B.S. in Biological Science (Univ. of Michigan) and an M.S. in Financial Management (Purdue), she built a corporate career before returning “home” to uplift families just as her parents—James and Bobbye McKinney—taught her the power of real-estate investment for community prosperity.

Our Story

Though newly incorporated, our foundation stretches back decades to Tuscaloosa’s fight for equity and ownership. Today, we combine that legacy with modern development techniques—and the support of forward-thinking investors— to transform boarded-up houses into thriving, affordable homes.
